Topwall TIR's maintained at well below 10 microns for extended production periods at canmaking speeds of 300cpm are a reality with the latest advances in Bodymaker technology from CarnaudMetalbox Engineering.

B3 and B4 Bodymaker customers can now take full advantage of our latest Bodymaker technology by fitting our rotary cupfeed upgrade package.

The leader pin arrangement is employed to more accurately align the blank holder and redraw die. The redraw die is held in a holder which is fixed on the tool cradle centre line for improved redraw progression.

The rotary cup feed was developed on a test rig with the aid of a high-speed camera. Cups were fed at 700cpm without damage, and following production trials on a 5000 machine running at 400cpm, incidences of misfed cups was halved compared with existing 5000 Bodymakers.
