What is CMBE High Performance Tooling?

CMBE High Performance Seamer Tooling is manufactured from the following materials:
   
 
  • Seaming Chucks - Stoody Composite.
  • Seaming Rolls - Stellite Titanium Carbide coated (ARC).


  • Seaming rolls are supplied in either of the following combinations:

  • Ceramic bearings.
  • Eco Seals.

  • or
  • Ceramic bearings with integral Ultra-seal.
  • Eco seals.



  • The above combination provides extended service life and reduced seamer setting & lubrication interventions.
 
 
Stoody Composite Seaming Chucks.
   
 
  • CMBE composite seaming chucks are manufactured from two differing materials.
  • The materials used are 316 Stainless Steel for the chuck body & Stoody for the chuck lip.
  • These two materials are molecularly bonded together through a process known as “Hipping”.
  • The “Hipping” process is a form of sintering and is done using high temperature, vacuum and pressure.
  • Stoody material is a special Cobalt Chrome which provides exceptional toughness plus is ideal for the application of either Titanium Nitride or Titanium Carbide coating.

 
 
Stellite (Stoody) Seaming Rolls.
   
 
  • CMBE seaming rolls are manufactured from a Stellite material that is “spun cast”.
  • This “spun cast” process provides the best possible grain structure within the profile area of the roll.
  • This improved grain structure provides increased wear resistance in combination with the coatings.
  • On completion the roll is then coated with Titanium Carbide that is highly resistant to wear, cracking or flaking.

 
 
CMBE has an alliance with Crown Bevcan in the U.K. where we project manage the annual seamer overhauls of their customer base.
 
CMBE also has a number of regional partnerships in affect.
